IDLING

********************************* IDLE *********************************
Idling is defined as a period time when a player sends no input to the MUD.
Sitting idle is generally frowned upon, as the heart and soul of what makes
Abysmal Realms a rich place to adventure is the Role Playing (RP) interaction
between players.  When unresponsive, you detract from the experience of
players who try to interact with you!

For this reason, an automated process moves idle characters out of the realm
and into the Void.  This occurs when no input has been received from a player
for 12 consecutive ticks (or 12 consecutive minutes).  Any input sent to the
MUD while in the Void will immediately place the character back into the
realms where they were last, so they may resume where they left off.

Sitting idle for 20 consecutive ticks (or 20 consecutive minutes) will
automatically quit the idle player from the game.

The official stance on intentionally idling involves spanking (see rule 3
and rule 16 in HELP RULES), but this rule has been relaxed more recently and
idling at questmasters or recall/healer locations has become generally
accepted.  Idling in public or dangerous areas may get you scooped up for
vagrancy.
